Community &
Coast Programme

An integrated plan to build a sustainable, net zero future for the North East of Scotland.

ETZ Ltd is fully committed to supporting communities located in proximity to the Energy Transition Zone by delivering sustainable, long-term, community wealth building investments as part of our wider energy transition ambitions.

We are taking forward a significant investment programme to improve local green spaces and deliver a comprehensive community benefit programme aligned to the delivery of the Energy Transition Zone.

The key to successful delivery will be working closely with local communities to identify, shape and deliver impactful projects and enhancements that benefit the area and its people.

Our approach has a dual area of focus:

Community

Working in partnership with communities to identify and deliver impactful projects and providing skills development and career opportunities for people within these communities, whilst ensuring that diverse voices are included in the conversation and benefit from the programme.

Coast

Delivering a Just Transition

The development and delivery of the Energy Transition Zone will be underpinned by the principles and aims of a Just Transition, as stated by the Scottish Government and Aberdeen City Council. By attracting long-term investment in North East Scotland it will ensure a managed and just transition as we accelerate to a new energy future by:

  • Reskilling of the local work force to support long-term sustainable and inclusive employment;
  • Working collaboratively to develop and enable a shared vision where local communities, industry and stakeholders work in partnership to create a sense of place that benefits citizens and people working in the area.
