We are supported by significant ongoing funding from both the Scottish and UK Governments, with a clear focus on ensuring North East Scotland remains a global leader in energy excellence, with a world-class supply chain, pioneering low carbon projects, and a thriving economy.
Our overriding goal is to protect and create as many jobs as possible, deliver a just transition and a vibrant future for the North East and the people who live and work here. We are providing businesses with the unique opportunity to invest and locate in Scotland’s largest dedicated energy transition complex.
Supply Chain Accelerator
Our experienced team deliver market-leading programmes and targeted funding support directly to the supply chain, and the individuals they employ, helping them accelerate their own commercial energy transition ambitions.
This activity catalyses private sector investment, career development and job creation opportunities within the Energy Transition Zone and across the wider region.
The Energy Transition Zone
We are taking forward the phased delivery of a unique Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) located adjacent to the new £420 million deep water, non-tidal Aberdeen South Harbour.
It comprises a significant majority of revitalised brownfield sites alongside a new release of development sites anchored by specialist campuses in Offshore Wind, Hydrogen, Innovation, and Skills – creating an energy transition cluster that is second to none.

Funded by the UK and Scottish Governments and Opportunity North East, ETZ Ltd is a private sector-led and not-for-profit company operating with a clear commercial focus.
ETZ Ltd is a collaborative organisation that works in partnership with industry, academic institutions, government and its agencies to ensure this region becomes one of the most attractive locations in Europe for investment in low carbon technologies.
Any financial benefit from the use of public sector funding or future funds will be reinvested into common interests for the benefit of all in development of energy transition activities.
